#COpolitics congressional fundraising: July 2018 edition

Hey, it’s another filing deadline, this time for congressional candidates, and I’ve got a table for you!

The big news in the competitive 6th Congressional District: Democrat Jason Crow raised more than $1 million during the quarter and has only about $317,000 less in cash on hand than incumbent GOP Rep. Mike Coffman, who brought in nearly $602,000 from April 1 through June 30.

Other observations:

  • Saira Rao loaned her campaign $185,000. She raised nearly $566,000 and spent $510,000 in her loss to incumbent 1st CD Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette.
  • Karl Hanlon loaned his campaign more than $85,000, but lost the 3rd CD Democratic nomination to former state Rep. Diane Mitsch Bush.
  • Did Arn Menconi really spend no money on the 3rd CD contest? He’s filed no reports whatsoever, which would be an FEC violation.
  • That super PAC running the nasty TV ads against incumbent 5th CD Rep. Doug Lamborn? Clean Up Congress received $25,000 from Los Angeles financier Benjamin Hom, $16,000 from The Cigarette Store in Boulder, and $10,000 from Fourth Estate Publishing in Colorado Springs. The Cigarette Store is owned by Terry Gallgher, while Fourth Estate is owned by Colorado Springs businessman Timothy C. Hoiles. The ads didn’t work.

Will update through the weekend.
